That fuzzy feeling~

Thoughts off the top of my head:

I want a chocobo. :<

Good morning, gentle peeps!

I've woken up bright and early to ensure that the comic release goes smoothly.

And it has.

So I'm off to bed.

I'm actually in the process of setting up MPM so you can use it on Smackjeeves mobile app. I'll also go through and attempt to find some errors in the comics (should there be any) but I'll keep you all up to date with how the progress is coming along.

For anyone just reading this today, check out Shadow's post below for an extensive list of changes to MPM!

*edit* 12:47 (GMT): So I ended up getting distracted, I'm up to comic 82 now and it's going well. Hopefully it'll be done soon!

*another edit* 14:39 (GMT): That's it completed! You should (in theory) be able to use MPM on the smackjeeves mobile app. I honestly don't know too much about it, other than I don't have a smartphone to test it out on. I'll look into it and post again soon!

MPM is back in production!

(Comics will be available to the Public starting
16th April 9 A.M GMT)

After our month working on the comics, we're back with our new format
of MPM comics. Some of the old readers of MPM might be noticing some
changes right away. So allow me to fill you in on what's changed and
what we've done in the last month.

1) Changed the site

We had a few issues with the sight design and in the end, we
had to scrap it and take a step back into our old design. I thoroughly
wish we could have kept the old, I could have seen some nice changes to
it to make the site really spiffy, but it had to be scrapped. The site
may change more in the near future. Although I AM happy with this, I
can't help but feel I could be happier. So expect to see one or two
changes in the future. This current layout isn't exactly set in stone.

2) Cropped the comic

Smaller comics! That's right, the original A4 comics have been
cropped to a more easy to manage size. There are a few upsides to this.
First of all, it ups the number of comics we have and my ego gets a
lovely petting~. Secondly, we'll be able to upload the comic on
Mon/Wed/Fri. This is so we have more of a balanced user income to the
site instead of just a large boost every Monday. It also puts us on
Smackjeeves front page more often, and we always love to have new users
come read the comic.

Also, not ALL the pages are cropped. One or two pages were kept
at their size because it just doesn't look right otherwise. For
example, Pieman's comic (Page 69 *Snicker* :3 ) stayed the same size.
As well as the Christmas Dinner comic (Page 195).

With all the new comic pages that we've brought in, we had to
come up with new title pages too. So we had to come up with about 150
new titles for page. Which as you can imagine, is a bit of a pain in
the ass.

3) NOSES

*Sigh* Yes, so many people have commented about the style of
the characters and how their nose-less faces just don't look right.
Some people even swore off the comic just for that. As much as my pride
wanted to keep the style, I have to please the fans. Because I like you
guys. :3

4) Comic Sans dropped

During the early stages of the comic, I only really made the
first few pages as a joke. So, not taking them seriously, I just threw
in comic sans and hoped I could get away with putting it onto a comic
(which made sense because herp derp). However, this far along it's a
little unforgivable. So I took the time to change all the text in the
comic to a variant of Comic sans, Gosmick Sans. To any non-designers
reading, it doesn't make a difference but trust me - it does.

5) Fixing some scenes I wasn't happy with

Where we had 80 pages before our hiatus, we now have 234 pages
in a more manageable size. I had mixed feelings about doing this at
first. I took a handful of comics and tested them out to see how they
managed. And they turned out okay. But some comics REALLY stood out
better when they were shortened. I think one of my favorites Page 187
(In the Coming home for Christmas story arc.) Just how chip's reaction
is more emphasis on the right hand side just made me really fall for
this style.

Another example is Hayliana's revealing comic (Page 99). I
wasn't happy with this when it first came out in the 990x1440 sized
page. I think her reveal kind of got undermined. But with this remake I
took another shot at it and love the way it came out this time.

When Nari snuck into the basement (Pages 108 - 111), I wasn't
happy that the mysterious man only got one scene. A new panel was added
to give him an establishing shot before his scene.

These are just a couple of examples to what changed in
comparison to the old format. And any old member of MPM might want to
go back and take a look through the new pages. And with all good
stories that were re-read, you might spot some of our clever
foreshadowing. :3

6) Promised boobie image

Yes, I know I promised you more boobies in the Extra page, but
I frankly didn't have time and I've had some personal crap to deal with
as well. However, I have put SOMEthing new in there. It's a little more
dramatic than what you were hoping for, but there's plenty of fap
material still there. So with all the various clever implications that
come with it, go fuck yourself. :D

In the last 4 weeks all these as well as make the next 3 weeks worth of
comics were accomplished and I like to see that as quite a success. So
have a read through the comics, there are a few new changes that old
and new fans will enjoy.

PS. If you spot any mistakes, Maybe I missed a nose, if there's a
comic missing or comic's are mixed up, just let me know. I'm only one
man and over 230 pages in a month, so I can easily accept that I've
made a blunder or six. The comment section is open to any guests, so
you don't need to have a SJ account, anyone can post. Dont' be shy if
you spot something out of place and I'll correct it as soon as
possible.

New site design + Hiatus update

Yes yes, back to the original site design. I did like the design we had
before now, but certain issues came up and it had to be scrapped. So
we're taking a step back to the MPM sites original design.

So we'll keep site up like this until I get some inspiration or can
hire a web designer in some time. God know's I hate, and am not very
good with, web design. >.>

I do however quite like this design. Just the way the comic slips into
the background and looks more integrated into the site itself, instead
of looking like I slapped an image on the page. Read through a couple of
the pages and see what I mean. ^^

Also, The hiatus is almost over.
The comics will be returning to schedule next Monday, April 16th.
There after, the comic will update Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Thanks for reading and have a nice easter. ^^

*EDIT
Actually, that 16th of April MIGHT have to be pushed back. I'm having
some problems with comic scripts at the moment. I think I have to scrap
the upcoming comic story arc.

MPM Update

Hello all!

Just to quickly update you all on what is happening behind the scenes here at MPM.

Shadow is doing a fantastic job on the comics. Seriously, re-reading the comics has been an absolute joy, they just look so fantastic. You'll really enjoy looking at them again (Seriously, I smiled all the way through re-reading these. I implore you to do the same once they're uploaded!!!)

I believe we're well ahead of track, I'll discuss with Shadow later about a release date. Sometime mid-April I'd imagine? We'll get back to you on that.

Smack Jeeves has also made it possible to view comics in your Ipod/Android/Smart phones (See: http://www.smackjeeves.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11085 ). We will be setting this up with the new layout of MPM, so hold on tight.

Finally, with Easter approaching at a scary rate, all of us here at MPM wish you a very happy holidays, however you spend it!

Does anyone still read these anymore?

Hello all!

Welcome to another mind-numbing blog of mine. Unfortunately, this one does contain some rather important news.

First and foremost, we will be on HIATUS until further notice. This will come as a blow for most of you; some may cry manly tears of sadness, some may cry manly tears of joy (which makes me wonder why you're reading this, but okay, let's go with it) but for the main point we WILL be back! within a month or two (or four, or eight.... sixteen....).

The question nobody will be asking is: Why?

Our premium membership runs out on the 28th of March, and we figure this is the best time between story arcs to get a lot of issues we've been battling with since we started cleared up.

Firstly, we're adjusting the comic style sheet and increasing frequency of update. We're converting our weekly update of a freakishly large black blob of a comic into a more frequent, but smaller and gentler on the internet connection 3 times a week update.

Additionally, we're sorting our comic web-page layout.

And various other things.

Naturally, this will all take time to do and Shadow and I have decided that we'll be able to get this process done a lot quicker (and with less hassle) if MPM is put on a temporary hiatus.

As ever, your readership is, and always will be, appreciated and we thank you for your patience as we bring MPM up to date.
